I have a Debian Squeeze system running Dovecot 1.2.15 Postfix 2.7.1 PostgreSQL 8.4.22 Saslauthd 2.1.23 I need you to migrate the 47 domains (there are 21 additional domains that are mine, that are just aliases; a few of the 47 domains are just aliases as well) with 612 email accounts to an up-to-date Debian (stable) system. The source system uses mbox format and the new system will use maildir, so the files can't simply be rsynced, but need to be copied via imapsync or a similar tool. It will probably be the best idea to move one domain at a time and evaluate whether the users are happy, etc. Once a domain or two is successful, the rest could go faster. We have a NAS box that contains emails stored in maildir format. These are old emails that were on a Linux server using postfix and dovecot mail. The server failed so we abandoned it and started afresh using Rackspace Hosted Exchange. However, I need the old emails from the NAS box. As far as I am aware there are only two ways of doing this. I have been advised that one way is to deploy and configure a new linux server and create all the emails accounts and connect to the NAS box that way. The other way I have been advised (which we have tried it using) was to convert the maildir to mbox and then from mbox to PST to import to Outlook 2010. Hi, I have an email system which uses exim, I have catchall mailboxes which receive mail for *@domain. If you send a mail to 3 recipients, Exim saves them it saves 1 messages with 3 recipieints in. e.g. Envelope-to: email1, email2 I then have a program called serialmail which picks up the messages and delivers them to the remote SMTP server.. However, this complains because of the comma in the to address e.g. Jul 18 11:32:05 fluent2 serialmail: Failed sending to , remote host said 501 5.1.3 Invalid address (501). Sender: email, Receiver: email1, can someone change either exim or serialmail to make this work? Ideally SerialMAil should be re-writen to send 1 message to each of the multiple recipients and if one fails send a bounce back.. Jonathan

I need a few mods making to an existing perl program that finds duplicate messages. The original program is here: The program needs to be modified so that it runs on a dovecot Maildir installation. It must traverse all child folders of a mail account. The comparison of messages only needs to be done within the current folder (i.e. we are not comparing every message with every single message in every single folder). The current version of the program only works if you specify a folder name to de-duplicate. I have production server running old setup with qmail/vpopmail/maildir and courier-imap. Qmail is "rotting" and for some time server is not able to process spam filtering and lately I(ve discovered it have problem connecting some of DNS servers and doesnt deliver mails from time to time. I(ve decided it is tome to migrate to new server. I need research about - how to do it in the first place. When it is done I may prolong the contract and let you do the actual migration. I am also not sure if budget is sufficient. It is negotiable.

We have a Dovecot Server running for quite a while. All of a sudden the server starts being complicated. Two users get a pretty unspecific error message "Internal error occured". The Dovecot Server-Log shows "IMAP(): Error open(/srv/mail/) failed: Permission denied ". X and Y are of course just variables here to not publish the customers E-Mail address. Also E-Mails for those two Mailaccounts get rejected by the Mailserver. The funny / odd thing is that all other mailboxes on that Server with the exact same settings are working fine without any errors.
