Academic Writing: A contemporary film vs. media/identity/norms

I need to have a paper written for my "Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies" class. The description and objectives for this assignment are: • Write an analysis of a (fiction) film of your choice. (Must be released between 2000-2014 and deal with a modern setting.) • Examine how media shapes identity and the ways media reinforce hegemonic social norms. • Connect contemporary media productions to the theories and concepts used in basic GSWS learning. The requirements for this assignment are: • The film you select should be contemporary and deal with contemporary subject matter. Aim for a movie that was produced in this century and that depicts events that take place in this century. • Discuss how hegemonic norms are perpetuated and/or dismantled throughout the film. The concepts/issues you discuss in the paper should come from those addressed in your textbook and our class discussions. Remember to consider not just how the narrative of the film represents hegemonic norms, but also consider to what extent the movie, as a cultural product, is functioning to reinforce (or subvert) norms. • Discuss how hegemonic norms are perpetuated and/or dismantled throughout the film. The concepts/issues you discuss in the paper should come from those addressed in your textbook and our class discussions. Remember to consider not just how the narrative of the film represents hegemonic norms, but also consider to what extent the movie, as a cultural product, is functioning to reinforce (or subvert) norms. • Provide a brief synopsis of the film within your analysis (setting, plot, main characters, etc.). This description should not make up a large percentage of the paper; focus on the aspects of the plot that deal with your argument. Please avoid the temptation to copy a synopsis from a website or other source. • Be sure to explicitly illustrate the link between the concepts and your observations from the film. Remember, I may not have viewed your chosen film, and you want to make sure that I understand the points you are making. 4-5 pages, double spaced, MLA. Must include one scholarly source. It's due tomorrow, 12/5, so I may be willing to accommodate a rush fee. This does not have to be a perfect work of art, because my professor does not expect that from me... but the higher the quality, the better!
