C programmer for our team - by the hour. We need to expand our team and we are looking for a professional C (NOT .NET) developer for one of our Windows applications, “Witsbits Desktop”. The product, Witsbits® Desktop, is a real-time online backup service that uses a software agent running in the background of the user’s computer to monitor changes to selected files/folders. When changes occurs it upload the file or, sends delete or rename requests to the remote side. A tray icon shows the current status of the agent. The application program (which this project regards) is written in pure C for MS Windows (NOT .NET). You are: ---------------------------------------- You should be self motivated and have no problem to work on your own from given instructions. We appreciate if you are a person who is structured and pays attention to detail. You should be able to investigate the best solution for given tasks, and be able to present it to the other team members. As it takes time to get to know the code and each other we want you to work with us over time. The amount of hours will vary but there is quite a bit to do. You are an Expert C programmer and you are Very comfortable with: - Windows file system events - SQL - xdelta or other binary diff methods Your first task ---------------------------------------- The first task is to implement xdelta ([login to view URL]) transfer functionality for the real time backup feature. The primary reason is to support real time backup of MS Office .pst files ([login to view URL]) – which must be done by backing up changes and not the whole file. Please check out the source code (subversion repository) and review it before you apply: svn://[login to view URL] Internet ---------------------------------------- You must have a stable Internet connection (ADSL/Cable or higher) since you will work remotely. This is a must! You will work on assigned tasks and report daily per email with hours spent and progress.
