We need to create an audio device that allows a user to transfer audio streams from one application to another. Any application is able to send an audio stream to the input side of our device while a corresponding application can receive this stream from the output side. Since all transfers are made digitally, there is no loss in sound quality. Our device is the audio equivalent of a MIDI or VAC. And must be compatible with all operating system (Windows 32-bits and 64-bits). Our device routes audio streams in almost real time, it is able to be utilized in various manners. A person is capable to record an output audio stream from an application that normally does not allow saving the audio to files. A user could also manipulate our device into recording conversations through Voice Over IP (VoIP) or Internet telephony applications such as Skype.

Hello, I would like to mention that I can do this project for you. I would like to mention that I am very experienced with doing projects exactly like this. I understand that your device resides in the kernel space and you need proper mechanisms for transferring data from the kernel space to user space. I would like to mention that there are a set of kernel level primitives that were introduced in linux kernel 2.6.17 version exactly for this purpose. I know precisely the kind of code that is needed for your project. I have worked in several semi conductor based companies during my career and I have overall 14 years of experience working in Linux kernel. I have worked with various multimedia devices and specifically with devices like set top boxes for nearly 4 years in my career. In our set top box implementation we use exactly similar mechanism to transfer data from an audio device to various application. We called the data structures supporting the audio devices as 'circular buffers'. So I guess now you know how well I understand your requirements Thanks
