I have a list of companies that need to be classified with their proper SIC code. The list is in Excel and contains company name, address, and phone number and includes about 900 companies. The project requires the company to be looked up online to determine their proper SIC code and fill in that code in the blank column on the spreadsheet. Many websites such as Manta already publish company's SIC codes. In those cases the SIC code can be taken right from their site and added to the spreadsheet. This type of situation will cover more than 60% of the companies on the list. In other cases it will require visiting the company's website to determine which industry they are part of. I can offer tips on this process as well. I estimate it will take about 1-2 minutes per company which means the total project will be about 15-30 hours but my budget is $149 USD. Please let how much of the spreadsheet you will be able to complete for this budget. Thank you. SIC codes are a system for classifying industries by a four-digit code.
