Converting Longitude and Latitude to Postcodes

Hello, I am VB, VBA, C#, WPF, Java, PHP, CAD and GIS developer, I developed many desktop applications and custom tools, macros and Add-Ins. For reference see my profile and portfolio. I am ready to discuss and doing the project. I did similar project in the past and ready to doing your. The critical issue in your project is the time and I think I submitted the wrong time and I will fix that because if each record take 5 seconds to get it the total will be 5*700000/60/60 = 972 hours = 40 continues days of running the application. Hello, I have written a program in Javascript which locates the longitude and latitude using Google maps API and finds the corresponding postcode. It runs fast, however 700000 records need a lot of time, that's why my bid is for 1 day (24 hours), just to be sure. The results are accurate and verified. Hi Are you looking for the outcode only, like AB1 or for the full post code like AB1 0DN? I am placing this bid assuming you are looking for the outcode. This is what i am going to do. I have a database of complete UK Post codes, with lat and long (only the outcodes). I will add one more column DistanceFromX against each post code where X is any selected postcode (say a post code in the central region). I have the code to find distance between two lat & long. So now I have each post code with its lat and long and its distance to Post code X. Now for each lat in long in your file, I will calculate the distance to X post code. Then I will find the Postcode which is maximum close to this distance, that will be the post code for your input lat & long. I wll have your file in mysql db, loop the db for the above logic, fill post code for all the rows and send you back the data with post codes. The same logic theoritically can be applied for full postcodes also, however the list of ful postcodes comes to around 17M, making it difficult to load to database and calculate DistanceFromX value. I can start immediately and complete in 2-3 days time. I commit a proper and timely communication and high quality deliverables, if selected. Thank you Roni

I can convert 700k of longitude and latitude using Google Maps API. This is simple task, but Google have a restrictions for amount of requests per day (usually this is only 2500 entries per day). Also i believe that some math algorithms can be used to speed up conversion (if some coordinates in the same location, can be be used same ZIP code) Can you send sample of data for initial test conversion? Why 20 days? I have done a conversion of 500k latitude/longitude into Address (ZIP, city, state, country). Those conversion was done in 2 weeks. Regards, Eugene

I have done this work a number of times and can provide your a database which you can use it convert your postcodes to lat/long combinations.
