Contest Description: APTUS Solutions is a NYC-based, product/industrial design firm. Logo is for a product, using just the name \"APTUS\". The logo is pivotal for our business image, branding, and materials. It needs to be \"multi-use\" as it will be used on our website, branding materials, packaging, and in order to differentiate ourselves from competition. All aspects of our business will have a highly professional & polished \"look\". \r\nWe aim to sell a generally higher-end product, so the logo must be high-end, but accessible. \r\n\r\nFor now, APTUS will be sold via e-commerce on our website strictly, so the logo must be able to \"catch the eye\" (bring users in w/ an effective web presence), as well as REPRESENT the COMPANY AND THE PRODUCT (using the name APTUS). Text/Name use in Logo: Just \"APTUS\" is the main name for both the company and our first product. We plan to add other products/services as we expand, so the logo must be able to easily adapt to encompass other areas of the business as we expand. \r\n\r\nCreating a dynamic logo is key. For example (DO NOT USE THESE), there might be an \"APTUSOne\", or an \"APTUSPro\" or other model name with \"APTUS\" as the root word, thus we are asking for Logos, which can be adapted easily by adding or removing text. \r\n\r\nAPTUS meanings in Latin: 1. suitable, adapted, 2. ready, 3. apt, proper, 4. tied, attached (to), dependent (on). Background Info on The Name: The name APTUS Solutions comes from the fact that we are trying to provide product designs, which offer our customers high-end designs, that also provide SOLUTIONS to the issues/inconvenience associated with using portable devices, in conjunction with your laptop...particularly focused on SOLUTIONS to the problems of cord-clutter, device fragility, lack of \"work-space\" and other issues that arise when using computer peripheral devices (SPECIFICALLY related to portable hard drives). The logo should speak to the APTUS goal of ADDING value, ease, and convenience, improving the quality of the user\'s overall experience when interacting with their devices. \r\n\r\nThe logo design must speak to a generally \"younger\", higher-end, tech-savvy, audience, however still be \"accessible\", and simplistic enough that it will appeal to mass markets. It will be on our packaging also, so creating a logo avoiding clichés, and try to appeal to EVERYONE aesthetically, not just to a \"techie\"). \r\n\r\nLOGO BUZZ WORDS: CONTEMPORARY, MODERN, SLEEK, ATTRACTIVE, EYE-CATCHING, YET MODEST (not too in-your-face) is of the UTMOST importance. Logo must be designed so that it is not to complex, but not to simple, and the medium for where the logo is to be used will vary tremendously. NEED SOMETHING THAT CAN STAND ON ITS OWN AND DOSNT NEED A \"BACKGROUND\". This logo will appear in MANY DIFFERENT PLACES and on various mediums. IMPORTANT: In addition to being on, website, etc., this logo will be \"tooled\" in to our INJECTION MOLD, and appear on EVERY PRODUCT.\r\n\r\nB/C the logo might be fairly prominent. It is very important the logo be SUBTLE in nature, but has an aesthetically pleasing, powerful, minimal, modern look, with the name \"APTUS\". FINAL IMPORTANT INFO: Make it clean and functional, Color is a possibility, but the logo must look good in B/W, gray scale, or EMBOSSED in plastic as well. I like grey\'s, black, light blues and dark blues, but will entertain all concepts! Please submit copies of your submission in several colors. Names that may be utilized depending on where you go with the design: APTUS, AND APTUS Solutions (2 logos) would be great. NOTE: for both product & gen. logo, APTUS in \"APTUS Solutions\" must ALWAYS be in all CAPS, and \"Solutions\" like that. I like Transparent overlaps as well. Maximum of 3-colors.
