Hi Which VPN protocol do you want to use to connect to AWS VPC? In terms of SSH, I'd suggest to keep all your EC2 in a private subnet even webservers as well. Hey mate, Well I don't know if you guys use the word "mate" in UK but in Australia they do and I am not an Australian but I've been working with Aussies and "mate pronounced as might" is all you hear from them. :D .. Well coming back to your Amazon AWS security project. Of course, I'll need to ask you a lot more question and you'll need to explain your project in detail to me. But I am so interested in your project for so many reasons. As far as VPN connection to your Amazon VPC is concerned, well just two days ago I setup StronSwan VPN for a client and I believe we can use that for connection. Hey there, I have extensive experience with cloud platforms (Amazon AWS/Google Cloud/Rackspace). you want to connect to aws server from your premise ( how many users are there ) ? do you have in premise firewall ? so we can do in two ways 1) if there are few users like 10 or 20 we can configure openvpn and will distribute clients to 20 users which they will run on their machine and will connect to aws 2) if there are like more then 100 users we will build site to site vpn and for that we need to have one on premise firewall and can buy one cloud based firewall from aws, for more details connect with me will discuss more on this
