Solve issues and provide hands-on support for our Amazon AWS EC2 websites

Hi, I've been using AWS services for various client requirements. S3 for assets, RDS database intstances and ofcorse EC2 as linux base web services. From the job post my guess is that you don't use RDS instances for database hosting, which can improve both performance and backup solution concerning database. Cannot tell much about performance until assesment of the current setup of the servers. The same goes for security. But in general, monitoring the servers for resource bottlenecks is mandatory in order to tune and reorganize current setup. Also file change monitoring should be used for security incidents. My time zone iz UTC+1 so we can have effective and prompt communication by any means you preffer. Skype, Trello, email etc... I also manage a fleet of EC2 instances for an E-Learning company. I'll be happy to set you up with secure servers that leverage the industry's best practices for efficient hosting and security; SSL, password-less SSH authentication, FTP over TLS (if required) and proper file permissions. As for backups, I intend to set you up with a secure bash script that authenticates to AWS S3 and will periodically (preferably nightly?) archive your source code directory and dump any associated databases for off-site storage. I am a system admin with more than 20 years of experience with Linux. My customers have servers in AWS, and I use it since a few years ago. I usually manage a full copy of the sites in many aws instances or working withc EC2 storage. Works fine. The security in AWS is fine but I will add any IDS or filter like mod_security in case of publish web apps.
