browser compatibility glitch in uploading files - doesn't refresh link

our job search site allows users to upload .doc, .docx, .pdf, .jpg, and .flv files. some browsers or browser settings seem to work, as in the user can see the hyperlink of the uploaded file and it will show the correct/new file. other users see their original file, as if their upload did not work. we need all files to upload properly, overwrite the existing document, watermark the new file, and rename to the defined naming convention. we have discovered that IE's default setting regarding checking for new versions of the page, when set to automatically, their default, is part of this problem. changing to check every visit to the page, resolves some user's issues. however, our site needs to be modified so that IE's defaults are acceptable/work properly on our site. ## Deliverables my site is in asp and asp.net and uses a SQL database
