animation exhibit

Computer based animation interactive exhibit for museum. Visitors will uses a camera connected to a PC (Mac or Windows) to record their own short video animation, using table props/drawings, one frame at a time. Requirements: 1. Recommendations on Hardware - a. Computer specs for quality image at full screen (17" monitor), 1024 x 768 res. Can custom build PC system. Macintosh would be off-the-shelf. b. recommend camera with focus at approximately 3 - 4 feet, with a depth of field of approximately 2 feet. 2. Software - a. Control - allows visitor control through 3 pushbuttons. We anticipate using a commerically available I/O board such as those at [[login to view URL]][1]. Regardless, your code needs to include method for reading state of pushbuttons (if you would like to recommend another way for the pushbutton interface, we are open to suggestion.) * Button 1 - Clear - Clears any previous recording to allow for new animation sequence. * Button 2 - Record - Each time button is pushed, computer records a frame from the camera and sequences it with the previous one. * Button 3 - Playback - Pushing this button plays back whatever sequence of images have been captured since the beginning of the current recording session. (Playback at 30 fps?) 3. Future development - enhancements for additional fees are likely once we finish this phase. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform We are open to suggestions as to whether or not to use Windows or MacIntosh.
