Create response from audio input

We would like some software written which functions like the following: - a sound is recorded (dog barking, door opening, car zooming by... something like that) - the software monitors for this recording. If it is close to the original recording (fuzzy logic may be required here) then a signal is generated (flashing light on the screen or something like that) We are not concerned how this is done... use current software, make new software or a mixture. Initially, we will only require samples to find out if this is possible. Depending on the results, we may look to engage into a long term contract. Looking forward to your response.
