Hello I have a system that OCR's image files and extracts the text to a TXT file. The TXT file is indexed (by MS Index Service) so that I can search on the contents of the files in order to quickly retrieve the correct TXT file (there will be a lot of TXT files). However I would idealy like to be able to search on the contents of the TXT files to find the desired file and then be able to click on that TXT file and open up the original IMAGE file that the text came from (not open the TXT file). Solution Idea: - I thought that if I could have a hyperlink in the TXT file that jumps automatically to (i.e opens) the original image file when the TXT file is clicked on from my 'Results' list (the image file has the same name and will be contained in the same directory as the TXT file) then this would be the solution. However I believe firstly that a TXT file can't contain hyperlinks and so I would need to automatically convert the TXT files to RTF first and then insert the hyperlink. The TXT will be also be deleted as Index Service can index the RTF files. This convertion procedure, hyperlink insertion and TXT deleting would be an automatic procedure by the new application that will run in the backround and performs it's tasks automatically when a TXT file appears in the folders that this new applictaion is 'watching'. I'm not sure if the automatic opening of the image file is possible via this hyperlink idea and so if it is not then I will have to accept that fact and either think of another solution (I welcome suggestions please) or just have to manualy click on the hyperlink when the TXT file is opened from my 'Results' list (insertion of hyperlink into the top line would make this easier). I hope this is clear. I would be very grateful for any help or other suggestions for a solution for my requirement. I would also like this project to be in VB code please. Thank you.
