I have over ten years of experience as a technical writer. Currently, I am an Associate Director of Foundation Relations for George Washington University. I am assigned to the GW School of Business, the Law School, School of Public Health, College of Professional Studies and the Columbia School of Arts and Sciences, I currently manage a portfolio of 30 foundations, six schools, and four research centers. Over the last two years, I have secured close to a million dollars for the university. I currently manage a pipeline of two million dollars which is comprised of a portfolio of ten foundations, four schools, and four research centers. I have also provided assistance to faculty in developing portfolios for tenure. Before GW, I was the Director - Foundations, Organizations and Institutions (FOI) for Habitat for Humanity International. As Director, I played an instrumental role in building a successful team of four which during a five year period secured over 125 million dollars from private foundations and close to 20M from bi-lateral and multi-lateral sources. In my role as Director of FOI, I also supported HFHI Affiliates in identifying national, regional and local fundraising opportunities and served as the point of contact for all proposal specific questions within the organization as well as external parties including subcontractors, partners and donors. I was responsible for maximizing competitiveness through pre-bid preparation, partner formation, technical staff recruitment and presentation of compelling proposals. In collaboration with program and technical staff, I was responsible for drafting, editing and finalizing corporate capability statements and past performance references.
