Hi,
I have a file of what I think is the full text of Microsoft's Manual of Style for Technical Publications. Within this file, I have already begun to rewrite it, by developing a table, where in the first column, it includes a term that Microsoft says to avoid in technical writing, and in the second column it gives the alternate terms and sometimes an explanatory note.
Most of the entries in the second column are like the following example:
*Use ?€œend,?€ ?€œquit?€ or ?€œstop?€ instead of ?€œabort.?€ * What I want you to do is go through the rest of list for all the terms that are supposed to be avoided, and make similar entries for the second column. I'm only into the Bs I think.
I will use the file to upload it to MS Word's autocomplete file, so the whole note will show as a suggestion when somebody (mainly me) types one of these words I should avoid, in a document.*

## Deliverables
This should be seen as sort of my personal tool at this point, to help me use Microsoft's work. I think it's fair use. I will get Microsoft's permission, if I ever publish the resulting list or create a Word Add-In that prompts users to replace the verboten technical writing words.
