Access/Word Merge Code Change

I have an order entry access 200o database that has a merge code that will take the line item for the order and merge it into a word table template with personalized customer information. There are over 200 of these templates to pull from and they are different based on an order by order basis. Production has the ability to print the from directly from Word to be copied and produced into large pads/tablets or whatever. The sales team wants to be able to review these forms or fax a proof over to their customer. Execs don't want the sales team to be able to save the word document in case they may alter it in any way and possibly make an error which could make them legally liable. I either need to some how lock the word doc after the merge, so that they can not do a save as a new document or alter it in anyway or can it possibly be written to a pdf file after the word conversion for the sales reps and then they can save it if they want, but will not be able to alter it.
