Access 2013 (32 bit) Job016: Access VBA procedure writing value from one recordset to another: Loop thru the recordset definited by qrstPrLy4AaK and assign the next unused code in qrstAa to the next null field, strAaK, in tlkpPrLy. For example, if qrstPrLy4Aa has 10 records, after the procedure is run for the first time: Record 1 now has 00 in strAaK Record 2 now has 01 in strAaK Record 3 now has 02 in strAaK Record 4 now has 03 in strAaK Record 5 now has a4 in strAaK Record 6 now has 05 in strAaK Record 7 now has 06 in strAaK Record 8 now has 07 in strAaK Record 9 now has 08 in strAaK Record 10 now has 09 in strAaK if subsequently 10 new records are added and the procedure is run again: values in Records 1 - 10 are not edited Record 11 now has 0a in strAaK Record 12 now has 0b in strAaK Record 13 now has 0c in strAaK Record 14 now has 0d in strAaK Record 15 now has 0e in strAaK Record 16 now has 0f in strAaK Record 17 now has 0g in strAaK Record 18 now has 0h in strAaK Record 19 now has 0i in strAaK Record 20 now has 0j in strAaK Requirements: 01) Create procedure(s) in the attached Access database, dbJob016 02) Process should execute from the command button cmdTest on frmTest. 03) The first recordset above, qrstPrLy4aaK, is defined by a query of the same name in dbJob016 04) The second recordset above, qrstAa, is defined by a query of the same name in dbJob016 05) Each time the code is executed, the letter code should increment 1 from the last value used. Once written to a record, the code should not be edited. The 2 character codes should never be reused. 06) The procedure/function should generate a user message when it is within 10 records of exhausting all available codes. 07) The procedure, fncAssignCode, included in attached file [login to view URL] was written to use two character codes starting with aa and ending with zz. You can either create a new procedure(s) or revise the existing procedure to start with 00 (zero, zero) and end with zz, i.e. the recordset defined by qrstAa 08) Declare all variables and comment all code.
