Build a Recommendation Website

We require phase 1 of the final [login to view URL] site to be developed. [login to view URL] is a site where people can log in with a social networking profile and recommend companies and services that they have used to their friends. They are motivated to do this by vendor deals and discounts, and the real value is in being able to locate companies and services that have been used and recommended by your friends. Companies can also register themselves. If you look at the early placeholder site at [login to view URL] then you will get the idea. Phase 1 is to include the following pages and supporting content, to result in a basic usable system that can then be extended and enhanced in future phases. : (1) User sign-up page (2) Business landing page. (3) Login page. (4) Results page. (5) Business profile page. Mock-ups are provided for the first four in PhotoShop format detailing the desired design layouts and look and feel. The Business Profile page will have to be developed in a similar look and feel (and with largely the same content as in the current site) in consultation with Sean, the primary project stakeholder. Some notes from Sean are attached and need to be studied in detail, and he will advise on all key functionality and design decisions and will ultimately be responsible for accepting the deliverables. Sean will also provide all video content. Further phases will likely follow, to include a number of advanced and peripheral features, for example voucher and messaging support, but you are bidding to deliver fully working site content in relation to Phase 1. The core site logic will be accessed via an abstracted web service interface accessed via JavaScript, which will need mocking up as part of this work package. Hence this is a client-side development and there is no requirement to interact with a database or server logic directly, e.g. populating search results is just a matter of calling a getSearchResultDetails web method with a predefined signature that should initially be mocked up to return test data. The site is to be implemented either in pure HTML5/Javascript or using Microsoft ASP.Net/MVC. JQuery / Bootstrap can also be used if desired along with any other mainstream controls and libraries. Specifically no PHP is to be used. Interaction with the back-end is to be solely via a JavaScript interface onto a web service, an asynchronous initial interface for which is included in the attached project files ([login to view URL]). The implementation of this web service will be plugged in at a later date, so for the initial version a mocked implementation of [login to view URL] should be developed. Progress indicators should be displayed during all calls onto this API. A separate Javascript interface ([login to view URL]) defines a plug-in interface onto generic login / social networking functionality. In this way the site can be developed to interact with these areas only via this interface, and we can thus plug in additional implementation of this interface for different providers over time. For example this interface defines methods for validating credentials, posting messages, getting profile images and enumerating friends/contacts. Specifically we can initially implement a FaceBook implementation of this interface, and later on we can add Google, Twitter etc. variants to support these platforms without having to change core site code, thus promoting a clean design and extensibility.
