Contest: New Home-Page for Virtual Store

Hello, I am launching a competition to create a new layout for my site. The idea is that you develop the Home-Page of the site, and once the best home is chosen, I will request an additional project to the winner for the development of other pages of the site (category, product, shopping cart, contact us, my orders, etc.). e-Lustre ([login to view URL]) is a virtual store for home lighting (chandeliers, ceiling lights, lamps, wall lights, etc.). The system behind the store is Magento, if the designer is aware of this platform, great, but it is not a requirement. The idea for the new home page is that it should look like an virtual store for premium products. The look should be modern and sober, with an audience aged 30-40 years. My home-page now has little room for elements, it is necessary for the new home to have more elements such as banners, last viewed products, credit cards accepted, deal of the day, contact info. The navigation menu should provide 3 ways to find the product. The main one is via product categories (desk lamp, chandelier, etc... up to 12 categories), one additional way is find products by their manufacturer (up to 30 brands) and the last way is by room (living room, kitchen, dinner room, outdoor, stairs, etc... up to 10). I believe Manufacturer and Room could be a dropbox menu, to save some space. A particular challenge is that not all people understand the difference between the categories, so we need something that demonstrates to them, may be an icon next to the category or something more sophisticated, like a dialog box that appears when you mouse over on the category name, containing a description and icons of the type of product contained in that category, or some other solution that you want to create, the goal is to make clear what kind of product has in each category. ps: You may change the logo, the font I've used is "My Puma Oblique Outlined" ## Deliverables * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Sunday Feb 12, 2012 5:31:56 PM: Gentlemen, first of all THANK YOU very much for participating in my contest.
