Hello,
We have a Point of Sale application written in VB.NET 2003. We want to do a better handling of receipt printing. What we want is a form/template that allows us to let the user define exactly the look of his receipt (choosing fonts, sizes, where to put headers, address, lines of items , alignments, logos etc..). This should be an easy to use template-maker that lets the user feels he is formatting something like a MS-Word template. The code should also handle in our application the sending of the receipt to a POS printer. We would prefer that it uses OPOS ([login to view URL]) but we are open to other solutions. A typical kind of printer is Epson TM88.
Code should be preferably in VB.NET but C# would be also OK.
In the final code we will of course add what is needed to get data from our database/transactions but the bidder needs not care about this, he would just dummy constants in the delivered code.
Bidder should send me a description of what you can based on my project's requirements? i would like to have answers on things like:
- number of forms
- configuration parameters
- types of printers managed by application
- using OPOS or not? if yes which version?
- doing job in VB.NET or C# ?
- how to handle printers without OPOS driver (ex. generic text-only printers)
thanks.
