Gary D. Aronson & Associates needs a program which is capable of doing automated searches of documents in the SEC EDGAR database (<[login to view URL]>). Essentially, the program will scrape information from the SEC EDGAR database and put it in a word file.
The program should include a graphical user interface in which the user can type in input 1 and input 2 as well as enable or disable copying the preceding and following paragraphs in addition to the paragraph with the key word(s). Additionally, the program should be programmed in C++ or CSharp.
This software will be written as WORK MADE FOR HIRE and all rights pertaining to this software are reserved for Gary D. Aronson, Attorney at Law.
## Deliverables
We would like the program to do the following:
1) Search the SEC EDGAR database for documents containing a particular word, words, or phrase - this part of the search can be done by the SEC EDGAR database itself (input 1).
2) Search each located document and all related exhibits for key words (input 2)
3) Copy and paste the paragraph or table containing the key words (from input 2) from each document into a Microsoft Word 2003, OpenOffice 3.3, or LibreOffice 3.3 document with key words highlighted or otherwise indicated. Additional options the user can enable or disable to copy and paste the paragraph before the key word(s) and/or the paragraph after the key word(s) should also be available.
4) In the Word Document, the program should include page numbers of the paragraphs which were copy/pasted into the document and the URL (as a hyperlink) for the document/exhibit.
