tilt compensated compass arduino + LSM303C

I'm looking for help with small project. I need a program that will output tilt compensated, filtered direction. Device will be moving on water (waves), device has to remember direction pointed when button was pressed and then compare that direction with actual one sending signal to one of two pins when actual direction is off to the left or right by specific amount (2-3 degrees or more).
