I am an attorney based in the United States who helps small to mid-sized businesses determine how to value their businesses for acquisition or partial equity sales to private equity investors. I have helped both to raise money for equity deals (my previous deal, with a Texas-based e-commerce platform, raised $1.8 million off of my proposal in a single presentation), and to complete the sale of companies on both the seller side and the buyer side. My current portfolio includes about six small companies on the market for private equity relationships.
In sealing acquisitions deals, valuation is the hardest part of due diligence. Every industry and revenue model uses different multipliers. Using the techniques recommended by both the Angel Capital Association and other private equity think-tanks, I have helped to price companies across multiple verticals ranging dramatically in size.
