Design a cover art for a scientific journal (artwork)

I've been invited to submit a suggestion for a cover art for the journal of general physiology and I'm looking for a gifted artist to make a design. The artwork should highlight our manuscript which will be printed in the respective issue. Our research is briefly described as follows: Nociceptors in the skin and mucous membranes prevent damage by being able to detect and transmit noxious stimuli, such as hot temperatures. We show that exactly two specific ion channels for sodium are required for heat-resistant nociceptors to encode noxious heat and that they have a gain of function at high temperatures. These findings are new and the named sodium channels are the only heat-resistant ones. Other sodium conduction channel types of this type , do conduct less with increasing temperatures. Imagine this as if a cable you use to conduct electric signals is heat resistant and conducts signals up to 55°C or, oppositely, as if that cable is reversibly blocked with heating. The idea that i imagine for this illustration, is a fire dragon exhaling fire and sparks on a membrane with red-hot glowing pores that are wide open and represent the sodium channels. The channels conduct sodium ions from outside to the inside of the nerve membrane. The sodium ions are just round little balls in the membrane. The membrane is made of floating lipids with little tails (see wikipedia for example: [login to view URL]:[login to view URL]). To signify the difference between the heat resistant sodium channels and other subtypes, there should be other pores that are not wide open and not red-hot, but small and should look somewhat closed, but in the membrane located side by side with the other heat-resistant pores. The dragon can be small and the membrane can be seen from the outside and appear just as if seen through a magnifiying glass as part of a neuron with axons... something like that. I've uploaded a cover that was once in another scientific journal, named neuron, and they used such an idea, where heat -activated neuronal pathways are signified by a fire dragon and cold-activated pathways are signified by an ice dragon. Because both pathways interact in the central nervous system via synapses, this crosstalk is highlighted by the fight of the two dragons. I'm up for other ideas too. In the background we plan to display a single channel recording as a black trace... I think this project should be finished in less than 1 months and I'm up for negotiations.
