MailChimp custom code for a Newsletter - Only MAILCHIMP Experts please -

In an email you can create a gif that partially plays part of a video without audio and then clicking it can play the full video with audio but playing the full video with sound automatically when the email is opened is impossible and there is not one email client that allows this in their inbox. I can put a picture in the background if you want but the Outlook clients and some other clients will strip all background images from their inboxes. In those places you can replace it with a solid color although it's best to just not use background images.

Hello! I would love to help you with your Mailchimp newsletter. I'm an Email Production Specialist and I create email templates all day every day! I must start by letting you know that you can't embed a video file into an email. The support just isn't there yet. Your best option would be to use a short Animated GIF Image of your video that links directly to the video. I can create the GIF for you as well. I will just need a copy of the video file. Please note that the quality of the GIF may not be great, depending on the size and length of the GIF. You always want to keep image file sizes small so your email loads quickly. Also, Outlook does not support animated GIF so you must have your most important information on the first frame of the GIF animation since this is what Outlook will display. However, the background image is easy to do. No problem! I test all of my templates using Litmus to ensure they render correctly across all major email clients and mobile devices. I have great reviews from past clients who have hired me to build their email templates. I can update your newsletter within a day of being awarded the project.
