Hi! This sounds like such a fun project! What sort of song length are we looking at? I'm operating out of Tennessee and things are pretty slow down here so I have the time to take something like this. I'm a tad informal, I hope that's alright. I would love to provide you what you're looking for. If you can give me the time I need to get everything in order, you'll have $250 well spent. I put 60 days as a time frame because I generally abhor being rushed. I have solid engraving chops, I generally use Sibelius if that's alright with you. So, I think 4 times 5 is 20...? But I'm shockingly rocky on basic multiplication these days. :D I have a litany of experience composing for jazz/big band. I have a degree in jazz piano - we were required to present a big band arrangement prior to graduating, and of course my problem was that I didn't know which score I was working on to focus on. Also some high school experience performing in symphonic band, marching band. Lots of experience writing for orchestra; and to be clear when I say writing, I'm talking about having said pieces performed after the fact. That's like. The best part :-) As far as VST's go, I am personally partial to Berlin Brass. The French horns work great in a more Miles Davis/Gil Evans context as well if you keep the volume nice and cool. But for just a huge sound, then probably something more like Cinebrass. Whatever YOU like is what I'll use. :D Hope we're able to make it happen. Cheers John Tunstall

My name is Jack Lincoln and I'm a professional trombonist/composer/arranger/producer from Sydney. I would be an ideal choice for this project as I am a brass player who doubles on most instruments at a high conservatory standard (including trumpet, trombone, tuba, horn etc). I am also an arranger and composer and as such can offer professionally laid out horn charts in all genres (including smaller 3-5 player horn sections, Full ensembles, Big Bands and Orchestra). I studied at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, specialising in jazz arranging and composition learning from the very best in this field. I am also an active music producer and know my way around software well. I prefer to record live brass instruments as you can achieve the best results that are humanising and raw which should be a feature for all recordings with horns. Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba etc I record myself through professional signal chains- if saxophone's or other acoustic instruments are desired I have a large network I can record. When software is required I use either Native Instrument Session Horns or Broadway Big Band depending on the style and tones required. I have a wealth of experience writing for horn sections, jazz, classical and orchestral music (literally music of all styles). Happy to provide examples of my work. I may not be the cheapest option to hire for this project but I will deliver quality and professionalism, hope to hear from you! (Also 4x5=20)
