Update MP3 tags using php and FreeDB info

To be successful in this project, you will need to open an MP3 file and extract the ID3v2 tag information. With that information you will use the Freedb database to lookup the track information and locate the original release date of the particular song. Once you have the original release date the tag will be updated. The release year I am looking for is the original release date of the track and not the release date of the CD. For instance if the original hit Smoke Gets in Your Eyes was 1956, but the MP3 was from a compilation released in 1972, I want to retrieve the and use the 1956 date, not the 1972 date. Once the capability of performing the lookup and update as described above, the project involves traversing a multi-level directory structure and opening each MP3 file (over 30,000 files) and reading and updating the information as described above. A portion of the MP3 files are internet based, but h bulk of the files are USB drives connected to a PC running XP Pro. The laptop is capable of running PHP & MySQL locally and accessing the internet. In addition, I need a program that will copy the ID3v2 tags from one track to another. The MP3s have identical names, but they are in another directory. The programs you create must run under XP Pro / IE and be in PHP and compatible to update MP3 files both on the internet at my hosted domains, as well as the laptop with its local drives. Clarification: You will be provided with an MySQl database that has all the file locations and file names of the MP3s.
