eCover Creator - Server Side

This program will receive input - Title, Author, Back Cover Description, ISBN, Publisher, Price, book thickness, corporate logo url, background image url, initial font and layout choices, and other relevant text, and graphics. The program will generate a default cover and will then allow the user to modify the text, layout, and graphics as they see fit. Finally it will output several files: a resizable ecover graphic, a thumbnail, and a printable cover graphic. The user will also have a choice as to the file format for each type of file: jpg, png, gif, tiff, or eps. It will also output the final text as name=value pairs. For reference see: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] I like the way ecovergenerator works but my software must run server side. :-) This project will need to have the same layouts and basic features as the others including lighting effects rotations etc. User must be able to input whole cover graphics or graphic pieces to be combined into the final graphic. Graphics will include a barcode generated by [login to view URL] found at [login to view URL] Output should include a resizeable ebook graphic, thumbnail of ebook graphic, and printable 8 1/2 inch by 5 1/5 inch cover graphic that must look good as it will serve as the actual cover for a paperback book. Output formats should be jpg, png, gif, tiff, and eps. Printable cover graphic will include back cover, spine, and front cover as well as a scanable bar code in the lower right hand corner of the back cover. Output device for the printed version will be a 600 x 600 dpi color laser printer. Spine width should be set according to the thickness of the book. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. This bid is for the completed project in addition to the source code. This is a "work for hire" and we will retain all copyrights and other rights to the software. ## Platform The program must run server side under linux and will be accessed either by a browser from the web, or by the command line. This project is to be done in PERL. Please DO NOT suggest a Flash or PHP alternative as such suggestions will not be taken seriously as they do not work for our application. A perl style sheet will be provided for the final submission to facilitate easy integration with our existing software. ImageMagick, PerlMagick, and Gimp/ScriptFu are already installed and operational on our server and may be used for this project. ## Deadline information This project is to be done in PERL.
