Hi!
***FIRST OFF: All generic or copy/pasted 'proposal' messages will be ignored***
***IF INTERESTED: Be sure to actually read the job post in full, and respond with actual message related to our specific project needs***
We have a completed website project, in which we are looking for a developer to help finish 1 remaining section: Our 'Resources' section of the site.
The past developer really seems to be struggling with the concept of taxonomy/tagging/filtering of content. Their approach is very 'linear', and not dynamic in nature. They did not properly use 'Query Calling' to draw content.
We are seeking a developer who is a true expert in filtering/taxonomies/browsing of multi-taxonomy sets and making a clean, easy-to-use front end experience for visitors.
The concept is simple. We have a Resources section as part of our website, that the admins can manage (add/edit/delete Resources). We have about 80 'Resources' in Total:
When they ADD a new RESOURCE, they first select (required) the RESOURCE TYPE, which can be one of two options:
- Videos & Tutorials
If they select this, they provide the URL to the Video (YouTube Link), and the 'Resource Title'.
- Educational or Industry Links
If they select this, they provide the URL to the Resource file/path, and the 'Resource Title'.
The NEXT STEP is to associate (tag) the RESOURCE to the appropriate options for EACH of our tagging sets/groups.
Firstly, they must tag to ONE OR MORE of the following BODY PARTS:
- Ankles and Feet
- Concussions
- Core
- Forearms and Wrists
- Hips and Glutes
- Lower Back
- Neck
- Pelvic Floor
- Shins and Calves
- Thighs and Knees
- Upper Back and Shoulders
- Yoga and Balance
Secondly, they must tag to ONE OR MORE of the following ACTIVITIES:
- Mobilizations
- Stretches
- Strengthening
- Rolling
- Taping
- Posture
- Nerve Flossing
- Yoga
Lastly, they can optionally tag the Resource to ONE OR MORE of the following SERVICES. The SERVICES options are all the EXPERTISE IN sub-pages of the 'Services' section of the website, being:
- Motor Vehicle Accidents
- Orthotics
- Pregnancy
- Headaches
- Pediatric Care
- Sports Injuries
- Stress Reduction
- Neck Pain
- Back Pain
- Hip Pain
- Wrist, Knee, and Ankle Pain
- Running Injuries
- Acupuncture
- Education & Rehabilitation
- Soft Tissue Therapies
That is it! That now completes the 'tagging' so that we can navigate properly on the front end.
Reminder: the 'EXPERTISE IN' (the last tagging set) is only used on the back-end, and is not a 'Filter By' or Browsing option on the front end. It is so eventually, we can connect any RESOURCE to a feed on the Services sub-pages.
The overall goal here, is to create a cross-taxonomy browsing that is extremely user friendly, where they can apply filters to navigate or find the content that is relevant to them.
Here's some examples:
- Perhaps they want to look at ALL Resources (both Resource Types), without filtering by ACTIVITIES or BODY PART.
- Or, perhaps they want to see specifically 'Videos and Tutorials', for ANY body part, but that involve the 'TAPING' activity.
- Or, maybe specifically, they want to see ANY RESOURCE TYPE, that is for the NECK, that involves either STRETCHES or STRENGTHENING.
- They can use check-boxes (including 'All' options for each tagging set), to navigate on the front-end to show (dynamically call) the content they are looking for.
The Page Design, etc. is all complete. We just really, really need help making this user experience work correctly, which seems to be a big struggle for us.
***WE ARE SEEKING A DEVELOPER WHO HAS WORKED ON PROJECTS WITH SECTIONS REQUIRING CROSS-TAXONOMY BROWSING SUCH AS ABOVE***
