Sync contact info from cloud based CRM website using their API to our local POS software SQL DB

We need to connect our web based CRM software with our local SQL database using. We would like contacts synced between the 2. I could provide an offline copy of it for you to use as a reference. We would only want the sync to happen one way, from ActivCampaign to our local SQL database. I would say have the sync happen automatically once a day with the option of syncing using the utility in the tray. Currently, anyone that is in ActivCampaign has already been entered into the local database manually. They want a continuous sync so if fields are changed in ActivCampaign, they would be updated in the local database, but only if they've been changed in ActivCampaign. As for the fields, the local database has a field for gender, but in ActivCampaign, they enter the gender as a "tag", which is a catchall. If this can be synced somehow, then great, but not worried if it can't be. In the local database, first and last name are separate fields, but they are together as one field in ActivCampaign. Spouse/Partner is linked to another customer within our local database but in ActivCampaign, it's just a field, there is no linking. Client number fields are the same on both. Birthday and Anniversary fields are the same on both. Date Entered field is the same on both. Addresses, phone numbers, type's of contact methods, etc. will have to be synced and be figured out. We are concerned about users entering new information in the local SQL database and then it getting auto written over during the sync. We need some options to prevent this. We also need a name parser.
