so you want to use your custom authentication rather then using google firebase authentication. i can do this job. but if you are not authenticate to firebase then how are you going to READ and WRITE data.

I have made similar projects with API authentication in NODEjs. using "JWT". you will need an email verification handling process. maybe using SendGrid. or any other email server that you can use with node. And maybe code a nice Email-HTML for your clients when receiving your verification mail. also, the "forgot email process", how you will handle people that forgot their "password". There are a couple of other details that we can discuss so I know what is the scope of the project.
