It is a regulatory requirement to verify each payment that it is not compliant with the applicable government policies. This application is distributed over many geographic regions like EMEA, US, APAC and so on. Due to the criticality of the application, it is expected to have an availability of Five Nines (99.999%). I was involved in the design decisions and also in creating and performing HA and DR test cases. Java on Oracle One of the applications required a generic solution to be implemented for 2 reasons. First, the client wanted a technology independent solution, Second because the client wanted a modular solution. Suggested and Implemented a database based solution where-in Java classes containing the business logic, were hosted in Oracle DB. So now applications written in any technology can invoke the business logic Application Performance Tuning Another application which was a regulatory compliance application for one of the major US bank, was expected to have very high throughput of around (3000 Transactions Per Second). During implementation the development team found that they were getting a throughput of 1message every 2 seconds. So to improve the performance, Suggested and Implemented a 2 part solution
