WEB DESIGNER Up to 35 hours per week, Fixed-Term for 4 months Salary: Grade 5, £11.39 - £13.18 per hour + 12 % holiday pay Freelance or self-employed individuals also considered With its 175 year heritage and outstanding reputation for learning and teaching in distinctive subject areas, the University of St Mark & St John is investing in a major new growth strategy to develop its identity, portfolio, culture and impact. As a result we are looking to expand our marketing team where an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and creative Web Designer to work with us for approximately 4 months to help redesign our website, . The Web Designer will develop the project from initial wireframes through to build, working closely with the Digital Marketing Officer and Web Services Manager. The successful candidate will need to be able to discuss with colleagues to draw out and confirm the design requirements whilst having a broad range of technical skills, a flair for design and an eye for detail. You will have experience of designing websites from design specification through to final designs (using relevant design software), experience of iterative design and user testing, excellent CSS skills (CSS3), expertise in HTML 5 and responsive website design, excellent cross-browser compatibility knowledge, firm knowledge of JavaScript, JQuery and JSON and firm grasp of internet protocols and web standards (WAI/W3C).
