I can my best but you should know a blank wpf app consume ~20-25mb compare to 10-15mb blank windowform app. We can use interop code to call Win32 APIs to trim working set size, but the next time the application requests memory from the OS the working set will go back up and there will be a performance hit. Use async task instead of creating new thread(each thread consume at least 1mb of memory), display data less item in gridview/listview, use simple item template, share resource...
