Instructions: Basic Feed Requirements All feeds files regardless of format must adhere to the requirements below. 1. Header Row a. A column header row must be included on the first line of your feed and reflect the content within the column. 2. Acceptable file formats: a.       Excel 98-2003 Only b.       CSV (Comma Separated Value sheet) or Character Delimited Text Files (pipe, tab, comma, semi-colon). i.       For text files, data should be enclosed within double quotation marks ( " ). If you intend to use the double quote character ( " ) itself and not as a delimiter, it should be repeated. For example, ‘15" TV' should be entered as "15"" TV". ii.       For Excel files, your inventory content must be in the first sheet of the workbook. c.       XML (Extensible Markup Language) i.       If you are not using Prostores or Yahoo stores to generate your XML feed, please contact merchant support to assist you in your feed file generation. 3. Compressed Feeds a. Files larger than 100 MB MUST be zipped. b. Files larger than 20 MB can be zipped for faster integration. c. Acceptable formats: i. Zip (WinZip, WinRar) ii. [login to view URL] (Linux/Unix standard compression) 4. Illegal Characters The following are forbidden within any cell: a. Smart Quotes Character b. Carriage Returns Character c. New Line Characters d. HTML, CSS, or any other formatting languages If you accidentally include them, it will cause formatting errors in your product listing. If they are added in the product price, product name or product URL columns, it will cause that product to be rejected. HTML/CSS tags will be displayed as basic ASCII text. If they are included in the product price column, it will cause those products to be rejected. 5. Building Your Feed a. The 'Attribute Definition" worksheet, coupled with the csv or xml templates will give you all the information on developing your [login to view URL] feed. Please review them and create your feed to these specifications to ensure the best mapping and highest quality deal listings on [login to view URL] Uploading Your Feed 1. File Name a. File name should remain consistent for all updates. (e.g. [login to view URL]) Do not include the date in your file name. b. File name cannot contain spaces or illegal symbols. 2. Uploading Your Feed to the Merchant Account Center a. You may upload your feed during or after the enrollment process in the Merchant Account Center using our automated feed uploading wizard. Select “List Products” from the Overview Tab to begin. b. Browse to the feed on your computer and upload your feed or; c. Specify an HTTP location or FTP server where you want [login to view URL] to grab your file. Please create a URL or FTP login for [login to view URL] to use or you can choose to deliver your feed to our [login to view URL] FTP server. We will update all HTTP or FTP feeds daily. i. Note: If you choose to use the HTTP method, please make sure that your web host passes us the size of your feed and its last modified date in the file information header. d. Map the headers in your feed file to the headers in our system. i. Note: each time you make changes you will need to upload your updated file. Feed Updates IMPORTANT: Updates are full-file updates. Do not send feed files containing only the products you'd like to update after uploading your initial inventory file. To update, replace the previous inventory feed file by overwriting the file. You should update your datafeed file at least once a month. Otherwise, [login to view URL] will reserve the right to remove those products from obsolete datefeeds. 1. Synchronization a. [login to view URL] will crawl your datafeed file multiple times a day. General updates you make to your inventory will be posted every 6 to 8 hours, during normal site operation. Updates to prices, stock availability and shipping will be published on [login to view URL] promptly after your datafeed upload. You should make your best effort to provide updates to [login to view URL] within 8 hours of these updates on your online store. 2. Updating a. Add or Remove the line(s) or row(s) in your feed file that contains that product(s) details. To change an item's price, availability, etc. simply change the appropriate data field in your feed. 3. Making Changes a. If you need to change the format of your feed, i.e. change a .csv feed to Excel .xls, you will need to repeat the integration process from the beginning. If you do not update the Merchant Account Center with the new file's name, extension, and map its headers, our system will not recognize that your feed has changed and will fail to update.
