Real time data visualization

My experience with Data Vis is mostly in financial domain. I was responsible for building a wealth management app that had a similar map with details of client's geographical portfolio allocation. We used Angular and D3 and Node.js on a back-end. With regards to Leaflet - haven't had a chance to work with it yet, but I'm sure that for the sake of this data-vis it should be simple enough.
