The Software will help with tracking conversions on a merchants website coming through people who are appointed to promote the services of the merchant. The software will help track specific actions on the merchants website such as Conversions, Lead Sign Ups, Clicks & Impressions. An illustration: Take for instance a website iamamerchant.com. Suppose this website appointed two people to serve as online promoters, and whose job is to endorse the merchants service and drive leads to the merchants website. In the above case to facilitate the tracking I would need to provide them with the following elements: 1) Affiliate ID: Serves as a unique identification code for a person. This helps the system identify who was the Affiliate that referred the lead. In normal cases, the Affiliate ID comes in the form of: [login to view URL] 2) Click Tracking Code: This is a piece of code that's placed on the merchant site. In this case, a code would be placed on every page of iamamerchant.com. This way whenever a person is referred from "A" website to the merchants website, there will be a code that will be able to identify this and then place this information in the cookie for future use. From what I understand, this is the major bit of code that if once sorted takes care of all the other tracking required 3) Conversion Tracking Code: The final code that tracks the conversion of a person from being a lead to either a Sale, or signing up on a form on the website
