Hello, thanks for a good detailed description. My first idea is to use "micros()" function instead of millis(), so we get better time resolution and no need for some external clock. I believe the internal clock should have a sufficient precision for the task. May be I reconsider it after a closer look, if you let me know you consider hiring me. And choosing a controller (board) with two hardware serial ports lets to avoid interfering the serial communication with timing. About me: I'm an electronic engineer with about 25 years of experience, also about 7 years of experience in 3D modelling using SolidWorks. Experience with Arduino and ESP32 controllers. Good technical background. Experience in 3D printing, manufacturing drawings. Prototyping is possible, both electronics and mechanics. Hello there, I would like to start by saying that I've indeed read the most accurate and self-explanatory proposal ever. I am very confident I will be able to do this, because I've already dealt with Time control systems with Arduino and 8-bit bare-metal microcontrollers, I've dealt with RTCs and I know the most accurate one to use, I've dealt with SD cards and can indeed log the data into the SD card for you to view/plot on excel, I've dealt with different kinds of displays, from 7-segments to graphical LCDs. Again I repeat, not only can I do this with an Arduino, I can use any 8-bit microcontroller you want if you want :) BTW, your suggestion to get the change in the milliseconds from the internal Arduino clock is such a great suggestion, but I do have a better solution :), using the RTC it-self and I am talking about the DS3231 to be specific, it has a square wave output with 5 different frequencies you can choose from, surprisingly indeed one of the frequencies is the 1.024KHz frequency.... I think you understand me now :). accuracy to 0.9765ms indeed.
