Basic WEB service

We have a web site (in Joomla) that uses a Silverlight app to get some input from users. We need a web service that the Silverlight (client) app can use to access the MySQL database (used by Joomla). The web service should be just the basic project, we will add the full functionality ourselves. For experts in web services this should take less than 1 hour. Experience with Joomla might help. This basic functionality should include: - retrieve the user name based on the ID (we will provide the proper SQL for this) - security: the service can be used only by authentificated users; the authentification is done in Joomla; the Silverlight client can be initialized with the session ID or the user ID - security 2: teh communication should be encrypted - Silverlight compatible - using SOAP as transfered entities We prefer the service be done for a cross platform so we can set it up on a Linux machine. However a WCF solution might be also acceptable. More details will be released to the chosen coders. ## Deliverables 1) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Employer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No 3rd party components unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the employer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement). ## Platform Prefer Linux.
