34930 Logo Design

As a programmer/ developer, my graphic design skills are sometimes a bit lacking. So, Im looking for someone to help design a logo for my client. My clients business is called "Meridian Gas" and they are a supplier of bottled gas servicing the southern metropolitan area of our city. With this in mind they have asked me to design a logo consisting of a gas flame (typically a blue flame) set into a representation of a globe. The globe is not to be a realistic globe with oceans and continents, we envision it to be more of a wireframe representation. A "meridian" is a north/south line of longitude and as such the logo could possibly do without the horizontal lines of latitude. The northern end of the globe would most probably fade to nothing leaving the south end prominent. This description is only a suggestion of a possible design. Any creative suggestions and input from the winner would be welcome. The logo must also be easy to reproduce in print and will be embroidered onto tshirts, hats, etc. So it shouldn't be too intricate. I would like the winner of this contract to supply atleast 3 different drafts and the chosen draft to be competed including any changes my client has requested.
