Enhanced coordination in Education sector in Bauchi

Similar interventions around Education systems strengthening (State committees on Education, SBMC trainings, Annual School Census), quality (Training of head teachers, teachers and Quranic Education facilitators) and Access (Enrolment drive campaigns) by different development partners in the State including government - No synergy, waste of resources, duplication and confusing among beneficiaries as approaches are not same. Initiated meeting of all development partners led by the State Universal Basic Education To harmonize and coordinate the education activities of International Development partners and the state education implementing partners working in the Education sector to maximize resource utilization and ensure synergy. To develop coordination plan for partners working in the areas of education in the state. Outcome o There should be bi – annual coordination meeting by Development partners and state implementing agencies to review and harmonize the activities. o All activities of Development partners should be reported to the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Education and other key stakeholders on quarterly basis by SUBEB and BASAME . o State Education Steering Committee to advocate for the timely release of budgeted funds on Basic education. o There is need for policy frame work/Education sector analysis that will regulate the demand and supply of teachers. o Encourage dialogue between the Ministry of education and the Public and private NCE awarding institutions for quality control o Implementation and tracking of this communique and the coordination matrix shall be the responsibility of SUBEB
