Already in place: Presonus "Qmix" - released by Presonus allowing onstage musicians to controll designated aux mixes via iphone/ipad/itouch etc. What this DOES NOT DO is send the audio of the respective aux to the users device controlling the aux.
IDEA: to enable the presonus studiolive to stream audio from the aux mixes to its designated device to allow a user to have total control over their own aux mix, along with having the freedom of wireless in-ear monitoring; totally eliminating the need for tens of thousands of dollars of wireless in-ear and personal monitoring systems.
HOW: in theory, we want take the audio of each aux, create a signal stream specifically for that aux audio (i.e. 124.14.2, 124.14.3, etc, havingthe computer already connected via firewire to the studiolive console) requiring each user to "subscribe" or "login" to each wireless address allowing them control over aux mixing AND the freedom of simply plugging in headphones into his/her device and hearing their personal aux mix. This can be achieved by creating a hotspot, having the different "addresses" streamed via wifi.
I would prefer all code be written in java, later to be converted to allow use with Apple products.
