This project is a proof of concept.
Goal:
To use low cost Raspberry Pi and some peripherals, to create a similar type of intercom system to the RVON intercom unit:
Price target: Under $200 total
Hardware:
Raspberry Pi
LCD Panel
Push to talk button
Push to lock for listen/talk
Rotary knob for volume
USB Sound card for microphone input
Power Supply
Powered Speakers
Software to be used:
Mumble or Murmr
Rasbian
We will need to setup a Mumble or Murmr hosting server, where all the clients can connect to.
The device should be totally controlled from the LCD and the buttons supplied. The unit should have the ability to by default use DHCP to get the internet, or set static IP. There should be two standard modes… Audio mode, and configuration mode. When in audio mode the buttons on the device control all audio related activities. When in configuration mode, the buttons will control all menu options.
Menu options should be:
Configuration
Device Name
Group
Channel
Central Server ID
IP Configuration
DHCP on/off
IP
Netmask
Gateway
DNS
Audio Mode
Select Group
Select Channel
The client should be able to select multiple groups or multiple channels to be a member of. Each client should be able to transmit to all groups or channels that they have selected.
Each client should have a web portal that the user can log into, and control their individual configuration.
Each client should be able to bypass any firewall rule restrictions that prevent the client to connect to the server.
You are required to present a full tested working solution where two clients can speak to each other in real time via Raspberry Pi and/or web. A minimum of one Raspberry Pi is needed to complete this project.
Please don’t waste my time with fake bids. I am expecting that you read this entire document and respond with how you plan to achieve the goals asked of you. If you are selected, I will put 50% of the project into milestone and won't be released till the end of the project, then I will make 10% milestone payments for each task that is completed and tested to be working, i.e. 5 steps for 50%. Once all the work is tested and working properly, all code and documentation to replicate this on my side, I will release the initial 50% that was put into milestone.
If you do not provide a clear outline of how you will do this task in your bid, I will report your bid as fake immediately.
I am sure that there are a few steps missing in the initial scope of work, but you will be expected to fill in the missing spots. The ideal solution is that you read above and provide a scope of work on how you see it needs to be done, and we can work from that as the project requirements.
