Alamo Linux?? LOL!! You mean "AlmaLinux". That's a decent choice to upgrade from the mess into which RH has gotten us CentOS users. You didn't specify a version (8.8 or 9.2). I don't really care either way, but to be safe, I'd recommend we hope first to 8.8 then bump up to 9.2. That will take longer, but will help smooth out any issues. First estimate on this is six hours, but since you didn't specify what "current applications" are on the box, I have to leave it open-ended on time.
