Analysis and Simulation of a Multivariable System Purpose The purpose of this lab will be to analyse and simulate a multi-variable system in the form of a coupled tank apparatus, as shown in figure 1. You are required to :- 1. Model the system in State Space From. 2. Find the general State Space Transfer Function for the System, relating outputs [Y(s)] to inputs [U(s)] and hence the specific TF when :- a1 = 0.01m2 a2 = 0.02m2 β = 0.5 3. Design an open loop controller [W(s)] so that the overall system has no cross- coupling between inputs and outputs and the following relationships are met :- Y1(s)/U1(s) = 1/(s+1) Y2(s)/U2(s) = 3/(s+2) 4. Simulate the resultant system block diagram in Simulink and thus prove that your design is accurate through various plots of the output for step inputs. You should make any assumptions required and state these, together with your rationale. Matlab model is effectiveley complete. Need the values calculated and a formal report. Attached are files to help and some calculations.
