I am looking to set up a calendar type application in either ASP/ASP.NET or PHP.
It does not have to integrate with an existing site of any kind as it will be a stand alone application.
## Deliverables
In a directory I have manually created PDF files in a standard naming convention starting with a 2 to? 4 letter code, the 2 digit date, followed by the 3 letter month short form (ie. [login to view URL]).
I want a page created that will in calendar format, display a friendly name based on the 2 to 4 letter code that hyperlinks to the PDF, & is sorted alphabetically by date.
The files are never created more that 4 days in advance so a 7 column layout will work perfectly.? I also need the previous days files to automatically be deleted.
** Edit below added March 31, 9:30 pm EST:
Sorry this is my first bid request so I see now that I should have included much more detail.
Currently I have a directory on a windows hosting account:
/calendar
I would want to set up an [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] in the /calendar directory
Within the /calendar directory I have 7 sub-directories:
/1-Sunday
/2-Monday
/3-Tuesday
/4-Wednesday
/5-Thursday
/6-Friday
/7-Saturday
The numbers and hyphens are a part of the subdirectory names for ease of sorting so the days of the
week stay in chronologic order when sorted by name.
PDF files get modified manually on a daily basis and uploaded to the corresponding day of the week
directory, there will always be between 0 and 25 files in each day.? The files are created no more
than 4 days ahead so what I need is a 7 day calendar.
For example if today was Sunday, there would be files present for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday &
Wednesday.? The sub-folders for Thursday, Friday & Saturday would be empty.
On Monday, there would be files present for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.? The sub-folders
for Friday and Saturday would still be empty and I would need the files that are in the Sunday
sub-folder to now be deleted.
The files have a standard naming convention of a 2 to 4 leter code, followed by the 2 digit date, followed by the 3 letter month abbreviation ([login to view URL], [login to view URL] or [login to view URL]).
The calendar page would show 7 day columns, at the top of each column would be the day and under it the date, month and year (in yyyy-mm-dd format).? I want a link to be displayed in each column for every PDF file but I want to display a friendly name based on the 2 to 4 letter code instead of the file name with the friendly name to be displayed in alphabetic ascending order.
The friendly names and codes I will put in a text file in the following comma delimited format:
xxx, "friendly name"
xx, "friendly name two"
The code should be compact and clean
