The project requires the development of C+ code to provide failover protection for my dual CPU server. I have a Motorola CPX-8216T server with an H.110 telephony bus.? See “CPX826 Datasheet?? pdf.? The server has 16 cPCI slots, two of which are for redundant CPU's.? The server itself is designed to support High Availability ("HA"), Redundant System Slot ("RSS") and Hot Swap functionality, which provides failover capability, from one CPU to another in the event of a CPU or software failure.? It also handles peripheral failure.? I don’t know if it addresses disk failure, but I would like to handle that as part of this project as well. ? The two CPU's are Motorola CPCI-7070 with 1ghz. ? See “CPCI-7070?? pdf. ? Two of the remaining server slots are for the Motorola factory "bridge" cards relating to the HA/RSS functionality, leaving twelve slots for Dialogic telephony cards.? I use Dialogic DMV960 cards to receive the voice calls, and Dialogic DMV960A and DMV2400 cards for the conferencing.? The CPUs have Windows Server 2003 OS, however, some of the materials indicate that certain functionality of the RSS/HA are tested for? Windows 2000 only? (which I have as well). ? The Dialogic cards are driven by the Dialogic Service Release ("SR") 6.0 Feature Pack 1 with the latest service update.? ? The SR supports RSS.? See Intel Dialogic System Release 6.0 cPCI Release Guide?? pdf (discussing RSS Manager). ? I have a custom built, functional, C+ telephony application that uses the Global Call and the Dialogic API to handle the telephony to receive calls and establish conferences. The Dialogic API supports HA, RSS And Hot Swap. The various functions are described in “High Availability Features in Dialogic System Release 6.0 cPCI for Windows?? pdf. See continued project description? ## Deliverables Dialogic SR includes a demo RSS app with SR 6.0, however, it is written to run on an a particular Intel server with particular CPU.? The documentation appears to discuss the adaptability of this app. ? ? See “Intel High Availability for Windows Demo Guide?? pdf.? It also has ? Pigeon Point Hot Swap Kit app. ? There are several system design options for RSS.? My primary concern is not losing any calls/conferences in progress in the event of an application, cpu or disk failure. ? I want the RSS/HA code written or modified, and my C+ code modified, to give my server and my C+ telephony application these RSS and HA capabilities. ? My main concern is the ability of the system to detect a failure/freeze in the C+ application, a CPU failure, or a hard drive failure and to failover seamlessly to the other CPU, without dropping the call or the conference.? ? The CPU has a mysql db supporting the telephony and the web applications that are also on the server.? I want the system to handle any failure of the mysql db or web functions, and any hard drive failure. ? You will have access to the server via remote VNC or? LogMeIn? software. The server is fully operational for testing purposes.
