This project is to create C++ classes to extend the functionality that is missing from zlib to decompress FlateDecode streams in a PDF file.. Zlib is unable to decompress some of the stream objects, but the files can be displayed OK with Adobe Reader 7. Attached files contain sample streams. Your code will become part of a larger project that parses the PDF file and extracts text. We are currently using zlib but ran into problems when it wouldn't decode these streams. The zlib inflate() method returns error code -3, "incorrect header check". We will need to be able to compile your code in our project and/or link to your dll. Note that our code already parses the objects in a PDF file. You don't need to duplicate that functionality. You only need to supply a solution to inflating the compressed objects that zlib cannot do. A sample PDF file is attached that contains these stream objects. For example, while we are parsing a PDF file and come across a stream object of this type, if we could declare an object that you define in your code, and then call a member function inflate() similar to what we currently do with zlib, that would work well. If you have a better solution, that is OK, too. ## Deliverables 1) Complete source code of all work done using only C++ (MFC is OK, .NET is not). The code should be able to be compiled with MS VC++ on a Windows platform. Use of third party libraries is acceptable if we can get the source code and distribute it in executable form without any obligations to any third parties. The code must be well structured and heavily commented within the code so that anyone proficient with C++ and VC++ can easily modify it without having to spend a lot of time studying the code. This "heavily commented" provision will be strictly enforced. Keep that in mind when bidding. <BR> 2) Coder will supply a simple test app, with source code and project files (not using .NET), that we can compile and run with VC++ that will demonstrate the interface to all the classes. <BR> 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. must have all copyright ramifications explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).<BR> ## Platform Win 2000, XP (all flavors of XP)
