We want to develop a Web Application that allows a user to localize and view data for collections of mechanical components. Data for these components is generated from sources that are geographically scattered. Components may be either mechanical assemblies or elements (parts) where each assembly may be composed of one or more elements. Component collections may be generated either from an entire collection of component data or via a search against component properties. All components are identified by a unique integer id and include global location as well as other properties. We want to show position of the assemblies on a large main Google map, with smaller scale details (the location of elements with assemblies) shown on a zoomed detail map. Assemblies and elements are also shown in a Tree graphic along-side the maps. The user may browse for assemblies or elements either through the maps or through the component tree. A search box allows the user to query against component (Assembly of Element) properties in order to select component collections to view on either the map or tree. In addition, detail information on either assemblies or elements is shown based upon user selection of an assembly or element within either the main/detail map or tree. This bid is for phase 1 (of four), which focuses on GUI layout and development and limited event/action handling. See the attached file for more explanation.
