When someone visits our site I'd like to store the referrer in a cookie including any paramters in the referrer, so if the person revisits the site and presses submit (a simple form asking for address), the original referrer from first visit is included when stored in an form order log. Cookie could include timstamp of first visit and number of visits, plus referrer of newest entry to the site (storing all external referrers is ok). Ideally it should work with all browsers, thus a php server side script or perl or something else might be better than a browser script like javascript? We have other possible tasks if you deliver a well-functioning demo, like a country/language cookie, p3p compliance, form and mail designs and SQL related tasks, I suggest you post a demo page with a form field and a resulting log that can be viewed. Please note that only the cookie related info should be a "dynamic" script at our home page, we can't have the full home page as php. This is due to heavy traffic, 200,000 visitors per day, thus the main page is plain HTML while cookie is generated within the HTML using php or something else. It should run on Linux, not requiring MS. Please let us know which language you'd like to be using.
